Global Economic Governance 50 Forum

With profound changes in the global economic landscape and geopolitical situation, the world is undergoing unprecedented transformation. The development of digital technology and the digital economy has greatly transformed the operational modes of international economic and trade activities, leading to a profound reshaping of global industrial chains, value chains, and supply chains. The multilateral economic globalization is encountering severe trials. And the global governance system is facing unprecedented challenges. It is particularly important to explore a high-level, neutral, transparent, and mutually beneficial dialogue platform.

Under the circumstances, Tsinghua University PBC School of Finance (Tsinghua PBCSF) established Global Economic Governance 50 Forum (GEG50), a high level think tank, to conduct and provide support to independent, transparent, and forward-looking policy research, as well as strengthen international exchanges, encourage mutual understanding, and promote the global economic governance system towards greater fairness, equity, efficiency, and orderliness.

GEG50 is one of Tsinghua PBCSF’s major endeavor to contribute to the global governance system. It focuses on various fields, including global economy and finance, international trade, international relations, digital technology and digital economy, energy and climate change, public health and others. Its activities includes in-depth academic and policy research, forum meetings, report releases, as well as providing policy advices and program solutions to major international organizations, large economies, multinational enterprises and financial institutions.

Institutional Settings

Global Economic Governance 50 Forum (GEG50) was established in May 2021. It is affiliated to Tsinghua PBCSF, with an Academic Committee and a Secretariat at its organizational structure. The Academic Committee is responsible for academic research affairs, while the Secretariat holds responsibilities for conference and program organization affairs. There are approximately 50 members at GEG community, including experts and scholars in the fields of global economy, international finance, international trade, international relations, digital economy, energy and climate change, and public health.
